Houston Singles | 3 Old-School Dating Moves That Don’t Work

Bored couple chatting with their smart-phone

Are you one of the many Houston singles struggling to figure out the best approach to dating? Are you stuck in an old-school rut?

Sure, some old-school dating rules were very popular back in the day and probably worked for your grandparents. There’s no denying that. But that doesn’t mean they will work in 2019. You shouldn’t be doing the same things they did because dating today is completely different. If you want to share a kiss during the first date, go for it. Did you really connect with each other? Then, no, you don’t have to wait three days to call them back. It’s time to put those old-school dating moves in a box and put them away for good.

Today, our professional matchmakers here at Houston Singles Dating Service are going to reveal old-school dating moves women need to stop in 2019.

  1. Needing a lot of notice for a date.

We follow these old-school dating rules because we don’t want guys to think that we’re sitting at home thinking about him and the first date. Of course, when we like someone, that’s exactly what we’re doing.

If a guy asks us to go out tonight or tomorrow evening, our first instinct is to say no because he didn’t give us enough notice for the date. Most of the time, though, we’re totally free to do whatever we want. Why do we keep following this old-school dating move? This is an old-school dating tactic we need to stop right away. If we’re free to do anything, let’s say yes to the date.

  1. Waiting for a guy to propose.

It’s probably because of the movies that we think that a guy has to propose to a girl. We don’t really see a couple talking about getting married and how much they want to be together for the rest of their lives. We see a traditional proposal.

If we’ve been with a guy for a long time and we want to talk to our boyfriend about getting engaged, why not just bring it up? Or why not just go right up to him and propose? Waiting for him to pop the question is definitely old-school, and it’s something that we don’t need to wait around for today. If you want him to know you’re thinking about spending the rest of your life with him, at least let him know. This way he can feel confident in your relationship and do the proposing himself.

  1. Wearing too much make-up.

If we want to rock a lot of make-up, then we absolutely can. However, we shouldn’t think that we need to do this in order to impress a guy, whether he’s our crush or boyfriend. This is an old-school dating tactic that we should definitely leave in the past.

When we stop wearing so much make-up, we might even hear guys tell us that they love the way we look naturally. That’s something that many guys say. We don’t have to give up our expensive make-up if we wear it all the time, but we don’t have to feel a lot of pressure to look a certain way to go on a date.

Are you guilty of following any of these old-school dating tactics? If so, don’t feel the need to stick to them. It’s 2019, and the dating scene has greatly changed. Create your own rules. Do your own thing. When you want something, go after it. If you play dating games, you might lose out on a great thing. Just be yourself and make your own dating rules.
